TxETRA Charge Location Map Recs

In 2016, the U.S. Justice Dept fined Volkswagen Corp. $14 Bil in settlement funds for the "Dieselgate" emissions cheating scandal. They ordered $2 Bil of the funds to be spent building EV Charging infrastructure across America. In 2018, Texas received its portion of $209 Mil (through the TCEQ) with $31 Mil earmarked for EV charging. TxETRA then began efforts to study how best to spend those funds.

The Map • TxETRA Charging Committee worked for 2 months studying EV locations to achieve border-to-border charging station coverage. By overlaying ERCOT power distribution maps with TxDOT traffic flow maps (and more recently, emergency evacuation routes), TxETRA recommended the following charging sites.
